Founded in 2007, Galerie Stephanie is one of the leading artist-centered galleries in the Philippines. In its earlier years, the gallery focused on modernists and more established local artists like National Artist Federico Aguilar Alcuaz, Juvenal Sanso, Ramon Orlina, Mario Parial, Angelito Antonio, Michael Cacnio, Dominic Rubio, and Lydia Velasco. Aside from holding exhibitions of more established artists, the gallery also prides itself in its development program for emerging young artists. Over the years, Galerie Stephanie transitioned into an edgier and more contemporary line-up consisting of Reybert Ramos, Rom Villaseran, Kara de Dios, Emman Acasio, Rommel Joson, Jinggoy Buensuceso, Allison Wong David, Aileen Lanuza, Camille Ver, and Vincent de Pio. In the past three years, the name Galerie Stephanie has begun to resound outside the country, providing exhibition opportunities to foreign artists as well as joining events throughout the Philippines and in the Asian region—including Art Fair Philippines, Art Fair Tokyo, Bazaar Art Jakarta, Art Stage Singapore, and Art Kaohsiung. In 2015, the gallery launched its international artist program, featuring UOB Painting of the Year Grand Prize winner for Southeast Asia, Anton Subiyanto (Indonesia). The following year, Galerie Stephanie debuted its Artist Residency Program, so far having invited young artists Noor Bahjat (Syria), Roby Dwi Antono (Indonesia), Nunzio Paci (Italy), Cristina Gamon (Spain), and in November of 2018, US collage artist and printmaker Morgan Rosskopf. The gallery’s international program aims to expose Filipinos to current multidisciplinary works and diverse creative visions of artists from around the world. BY: http://galeriestephanie.com/about/
